Why Should You Utilize a Computer Projector? How About; Portability, Light Weight, Easy Notebook Computer Connectability, and an Audience - Content Rich Presentation.

by Gary Pearson

Owning a computer projector can be of great benefit to you personally, or to your company. Computer projectors can help you in presentations, especially to enhance the information you are trying to portray.

Giving a presentation can be a very stressful event, and the expectation for colorful and stimulating productions is high. Nobody wants to walk away from a presentation feeling as if they could have done better, and unfortunately the old black and white slides simply do not do the job anymore.

Combined with programs like Microsoft PowerPoint, projectors enable you to project information directly from your PC. These days the most popular type of computer projector is the LCD projector, which combines an overhead projector with an LCD panel. Through an LCD projector you can give live web presentations as well as demo a computer program without everything having to be pre-prepared.

Computer projectors these days cover all the basics, including stereo speakers, remote controls and video projection, allowing you to offer your clients professional grade presentations. You can also opt for a stronger projector for larger rooms or even high resolution models.

If your company requires travelling presentations then consider a portable model which will allow you to easily pack up the projector as you move between locations. Any company that offers presentations should really consider a computer projector.

What is Ventrillo Hosting?

by Jarrod Ploof

Ventrillo Hosting, which is also often called Ventrilo, is a voice over internet protocol (or VOIP) application particularly often used by gamers, who find it to be a useful tool for communication between guild members when planning raids and other activities in the course of gameplay. This method of voice communication is inexpensive, even free if your needs are very limited.

Ventrillo hosting is a rental service so there is a fee involved. Fees vary depending on the hosting company that is chosen but it is usually split between all the members of a guild. While there is a freeware version of Ventrilo it does not have space to handle the sizes of most guilds however the pro version requires a minimum of 1000 slots which is significantly larger than most guilds.

Ventrillo Hosting can fill in the gap here. You can rent the number of slots needed by your guild form a web hosting company which offers the professional version of the Ventrilo software. If you have never tried out the Ventrillo hosting software, think about the way your guild currently plans and carries out raids.

You have probably been carrying out your planning via phone or email; maybe via instant messenger. This is a cumbersome means of communication, especially during gameplay. Worse yet is the majority of VOIP software out there; it can be unreliable and uses far too much of your bandwidth! Ventrilo, on the other hand uses very little bandwidth, making it ideally suited for online gameplay.

During a raiding operation, it is very difficult to keep in contact with your teammates by using text-based communication; in order to type messages to them, you must step away from gameplay. VOIP communication makes more sense ? you can then stay in the action while being in contact with your fellow guild members. The best part about Ventrillo hosting is that you can have all of this at a very low price.

The software can be used freely (if you need eight slots or less, this is provided by the freeware version) or if you need more slots, they can be rented for a small fee from a hosting company. This software is available for both the Windows and Mac OS platforms and is essential to creating a more enjoyable MMoRPG experience for gamers. Game play, strategy and constant communication with team members are all possible without taking up too much bandwidth and causing lags.

Ventrillo hosting is the ideal solution to the needs of online gamers. The cost is small, there are plenty of different hosting companies offering the service and the benefits for gamers are many. You can easily keep in contact with teammates during the game; or any time at all! Planning and executing raids is far easier when you have good communication ? the kind which Ventrilo software offers.

Then during game play you can maintain communication and make adjustments as needed without having to pause game play in order to do it. This makes for a smoother game and because Ventrilo is a low bandwidth usage program you do not have to worry about losing game bandwidth when you use Ventrilo.

Computers and Video Creation

by Jimmy Jotchnik

It’s become easier over the last few years to create video on your computer. There are numerous programs that you can use, and it’s become quite simple to where almost anyone can do it. But some of the limitations are your computer itself. What can you do to ensure that you can use your computer to create videos?

First, a good indicator of your ability to produce videos is the age of your computer. If your computer has been collecting dust in your den for the last 12 years, most likely you’re not going to be able to upgrade it enough to be able to process videos.

Second, you’ll need a good video card. While it is technically possible to create video with an onboard video card(meaning one that is part of an all-in-one motherboard), in most instances you’ll want a current video card with 128MB or more of video memory. Many video cards today come with 512MB or more of video memory.

Third, is the system memory. Most computers come with a standard amount of memory from 1-4GB’s. In the off chance that you have less than 1GB of memory, you’re going to want to immediately add as much memory as you can to the system. Don’t skimp however, you’ll need to get the best memory you can afford. The quality of memory can definitely make a difference as well.

Fourth, you should find out about your processors speed. It’s not as easy as it once was. At one time it was all about the Megahurtz that the computer functioned at. Now, it seems that you have to juggle the differences between Intel and AMD and dual cores and quad cores. To make it pretty simple, try to have a processor above 2.0 Ghz and that will help.

Fifth, you’ll want plenty of storage space. A large hard drive is essential as many video files end up quite large. You’ll want to make sure that you have plenty of space so that you won’t run out of hard drive space in the middle of a large video production.

We’ve tried to maintain the order of importance in the above list. In the end however it’s a balancing act between economical upgrades versus the viability of purchasing a brand new computer anyway.

A fast, efficient computer is essential for your video production needs, and can make all the difference between video creation being fun an exciting and video creation being a chore. Hopefully these quick steps will help you in your quest to ultimate video creation nirvana.

Select The Proper Hinge For Your Project

by Jerry Blackburn

Choose The Right Hinge For Your Project

Because the display of hinges in a home improvement and hardware stores can be dizzying to the inexperienced homeowner, many need some help to know which hinge is correct for the woodworking project or home repair. The first essential step would be to narrow the selection based on weight, shape and size, so that the hinge will be appropriate for the materials used in the project. Large heavy hinges are fine for doors, but not appropriate for smaller, delicate wooden boxes and so on.

In addition, some hinges are designed as reversible hinges, so that either end can be mounted to the top. Other hinges are more decorative and must be installed in a certain position. There are also hinges for left-hand and right-hand doors to consider as well. The loose-pin hinge used for hanging doors is made so that the hinge pin is inserted and removed from the top. Right-hand hinges and left-hand hinges can be distinguished by simply standing on the outer side of the door to see if the door opens to the right side or to the left side.

One detail that some do-it-yourself homeowners don’t consider is how much of the hinge will be visible when the project is complete. If the hinge shows, it may be best to choose something more decorative, though some homeowners prefer simple and functional hinges to show as well. This depends on personal taste. Some people prefer the hinge to be hidden, so thought should be given to how the hinge will function in this case.

Shopping for the appropriate hinges can be much easier if the homeowner can ask good questions and understands the printed information about each type. This list may help.

? Back flap hinge ? a version of the butt hinge, commonly used for furniture

? Ball-bearing hinge ? permanently lubricated but slightly more expensive, for heavy-duty doors

? Butt hinge ? normally range in size from 13 mm to 150 mm. Varieties include rigid pin and loose pin. Often used for mounting home doors and cabinet doors

? Butterfly hinge ? for lightweight doors, in a variety of shapes and patterns

? Double-acting hinge ? opens in either direction, usually on folding doors

? Flush hinge ? less strength than butt hinge, often used for cabinets, concealed except for hinge barrel

? Knuckle hinges ? loose joint hinge, decorative, shows only the knuckle

? Offset blind hinge ? full opening and swing away, screen/storm doors

? Parliament hinges ? when hinge pin must extend past door face

? Pivot hinge ? versatile, recessed doors, overlay doors, flush doors

? Spring-loaded hinge ? automatically closes door, adjustable tension available

? Table top hinges ? leaf section tables

? Concealed hinges ? 25 mm to 36 mm in size, adjustable after fitting, chipboard and MDF

In addition to these hinges, there are a number of specialty hinges, including the strap hinge, T-hinge and continuous hinges. Some are designed for heavy-duty use while the continuous hinge is perfect for chest lids, cabinets and so on. A piano hinge is a continuous hinge. No matter your home plans, there’s a hinge right for it.
