Say Goodbye To Unwanted Wrinkles

by Jen Hopkins

We are all familiar to the name \”Cleopatra\” and what it stands for. It is written in history that this woman was famous worldwide for her beauty and charm. It is understandable she is famous across the globe because beauty can melt the heart of millions. Thousands of cosmetics and beauty products are released every day. How do we know which one is the best anti-wrinkle cream?

In ancient days, pollution was very minimal compared to today. That is a factor as to why it was easier for women to take care of their skin back then. As society progressed, so did our increase in production and pollution was a result. Today we are faced with too much pollution in the air and it is a major problem.

Isn’t it terrible that we know about the harmful effects of pollution, yet we continuously pollute our atmosphere? Air pollution is one of the leading factors for skin problems. After a grueling day of work, a woman notices that her skin becomes dull and doesn’t look youthful.

There are many causes for wrinkles. As a person grows older, his or her skin changes in texture. This change in texture is caused by the decrease of the body’s production of the skin-nourishing proteins collagen and elastin. What role do collagen and elastin have when it comes to looking youthful?

The aforementioned proteins are synthesized inside our bodies. These proteins keep our skin soft and supple. When these proteins are not synthesized in the desired amounts, fine lines start appearing on our faces. These fine lines are popularly known as wrinkles.

So what is the best anti-wrinkle cream on the market? There are some things that need to be taken into consideration while shopping for skin maintenance products. First and foremost, we should never make the mistake of imitating the skin regiments of other people we know. Your own skin is unique and different from another’s skin type.

A good anti-wrinkle cream should have three key ingredients which consist of a sunscreen agent, collagen and a moisturizer. A natural moisturizer found in high quality anti-aging products is aloe vera. You also want to make sure that you choose a product that will suit your particular skin type.

Lastly, what is the best anti-wrinkly cream that will fit your needs? It is better to get one that will be good for your skin and wallet is obviously better than an expensive cream that will not even improve your skin condition. Don’t fall for product gimmicks that are celebrity sponsored, but aren’t effective.

Anti Cellulite Creams: Why They Are Effective

by Mandy Adamsen

Today, there are more and more researches done on cellulite cream. This is only understandable. The concern over unsightly cellulite has been around for a very, very long time now. So do anti cellulite creams really work and are they all worth it in the end? Let’s find out.

Availability of the product is not the problem. The problem is, how do we know which one is the best to use? To find out, we need to look into the core of anti cellulite products. For instance, we need to ask, what are the ingredients? How are they effective? What do they do? These questions will definitely help you figure out whether the information you are getting from a product makes sense or not.

Consumers who have been suffering due to their cellulite for a very long time will tend to believe just about anything. First of all, you should never think there is one universal product that’s best for everyone. If a product claims to do miracles, then it’s probably too good to be true. So do cellulite creams work? In general yes, but the real question is which ones are the most effective ones. Some creams do work, but cause severe skin reactions. Other creams also do work, but only in the short-term.

Product Name - One thing you should watch out for is the reputation of a product. Many good anti cellulite creams are backed up by lots of sensible information in their website. For instance, companies that provide a FAQ, list of ingredients, and explanations on exactly how their products work are often those that are well-trusted. At least, you can do some research on your own if the complete list of ingredients are right in front of you.

You need to look closer into a product. Not only that, you need to find a connection between the information about a product with scientific findings. For instance, research has just discovered that caffeine is the newest anti cellulite agent. There are now anti cellulite products that do contain caffeine. So in this case you might want to place those products in your priority list. Don’t just stop there though. Find out exactly what caffeine does and how it could actually help get rid of cellulite!

Why They Work - The observation is that caffeine improves fat metabolism and minimizes swelling, and therefore makes skin look smoother than it really is. The conclusion is, cellulite creams can indeed minimize the appearance of cellulite, even though they may not be able to eliminate all cellulite (that would be sort of miraculous). Good creams can plump up the skin so that the surface appears smoother. Also, good creams have other added natural ingredients that improve skin in general, such as retinol A, AHA, and coffeeberry. We’re talking about boosting your skin’s health with antioxidants (that get rid of toxins) and soothing it at the same time.

Cellulite Visibility - Although scientists have found there’s still no proven method that totally eliminates cellulite, these scientists do observe that there are products that can minimize the visibility and sensation of cellulite. This is pretty outstanding in itself, because people are generally more concerned over the appearance of cellulite, and not really on the fact that fat cells exist.

Why Creams Are Better Alternative - So are anti cellulite creams worth it? Think about other methods such as surgery (liposuction, etc) and supplements that you have to take orally. Creams can be applied directly and do not have to go through your system like supplements do-creams can work locally on affected areas only. Surgery is extremely invasive to many, and not to mention quite risky, expensive and not 100% fail-proof. So at the end of the day, really think about these considerations and you make the call!

Learn The Best Food Groups & Practical Exercises For Fat Loss

by Flortentina Ryan

Burning a lot more calories than what you eat is called fat loss. The combination of treadmill , exercises and diet are great ways to burn extra calories. Fat loss is the determination of reducing body fat, whereas weight loss allows for only a small reduction in body fat then start breaking down muscle tissue and losing water weight. Your goal should be to lose fat, while you maintain and increase your lean muscle mass. Fat loss is a goal for bodybuilders during cutting phases. Fat loss is a hard work however there are supplements that can help you reach your goals faster. Fat loss is about reducing calorie but avoiding very low intake ,because it will cause problems.

Heart rate Interval Training provides you with your own personal yard stick to measure your progress. Whether you are trying to get more competitive in your sports, live a healthier life, tone your body or lose that extra body fat, you will need to be able to measure accurately how you are doing. Heart disease, kidney trouble, diabetes, high blood pressure and liver trouble are just a few illustrations of the effects of being obese.

Though the amount and kind of food we intake is not the only answer to reducing body fat, it is, along with exercise, the key elements. Muscle burns fat for fuel when the body is at rest and during exercise. Exercise maintains permanent fat loss. Muscles can store excess blood sugar (glucose) in the form of Glycogen. When the glucose levels in the blood becomes too high the muscles will absorb glucose and store it in the form of glycogen. Muscles and veins in the legs may look bigger because there is less fat to hide them.

Muscle is what drives your metabolism. For every pound of muscle on your body you need 35 - 50 calories per day to sustain it. Muscle contains about 3 times as much water as fat. So if you lose a pound of muscle you’re losing 3 pounds of water with it. Muscle mass is one of the biggest determinants of resting metabolic rate. While science continues to investigate and debate exactly how many extra calories are burned per day by the addition of one pound of muscle — what IS clear is that muscle is metabolically active = more muscle = more calories burned. Muscle burns more fat than fat does

Weight maintenance is the most difficult part of controlling weight and is not consistently implemented in weight loss programs. Weight loss is more than a practice in America these days, it is a whole industry. Obese and overweight people are treated like outcasts, and it is not something they can take easily Weight loss occurs when you burn more calories than you take in. This system helps you burn an enormous amount of calories with no exercise whatsoever. Weight, body mass index, blood glucose, and lipids remained unchanged for both groups.

Building muscle is hard for men that have much higher Testosterone levels than you. You will not get big and bulky by accident with strength training. Building strong abdominals without also developing the antagonistic spinal erectors of the lower back could easily lead to injury. Many people are under the impression that they should only do cardiovascular activities until the weight comes off, and then add weight training later on.

Rapid fat loss is something that Americans and people across the globe desire. We find ourselves neglecting those important health basics that keep us from adding pounds to our build RAPID weight loss is NEVER caused by reduced body fat. Rapid weight loss is due to the loss of glycogen, water, minerals, bodily proteins, adipose tissue, Intramuscular triglyceride and decreased GI tract storage.

Lap Band Surgery: How Does it Work?

by Amy Nutt

Lap band surgery is a procedure aimed to promote weight loss for people struggling to cope with obesity. Overall, the lap band surgery is a simple procedure where, in short, a small implant is placed around the top portion of the stomach to form a ‘gastric pouch’. Here’s how it works:

A ‘gastric band’ with a small balloon inside is attached around the top portion of your stomach, forming a smaller ‘gastric pouch’. The placement of the band creates a small pouch at the top of the stomach that holds up to approximately 30 ml, which works out to about 1/8 cup. You are inclined to eat less because the pouch holds less food than the whole stomach. As the upper part of the stomach registers itself as being full, it sends a message to the brain saying that the entire stomach is full. This is the main principle behind the lap band procedure; this tightening of the stomach feeling or sensation helps the person to:

1. be hungry less often 2. to eat smaller portions 3. and lose weight over time.

This pouch is filled with a saline solution or a Radiopaque isotonic solution which is injected into the band via a port. Via the port, the surgeon has control over the amount of saline solution that is inserted into the band. When fluid is injected, the lap band expands and places pressure around the outside of the stomach. This causes a decrease in the size of the passage between the pouch and the lower stomach; restricting the movement of food.

The gastric band is adjusted or inflated via a small port inserted just under the surface of the skin. When adjusting the lap band (same as gastric band) a specialized needle must be used as to avoid causing any damage to the port or the port membrane. These ports come is many different styles and designs and may be placed based on the surgeon’s recommendations.

Once the procedure is done, (usually takes about 45 minutes) the next stage is the post operative follow-up adjustments, support, and lifestyle changes. The patient will need to visit their doctor every few weeks in order to receive their saline injections. Over this time the band is filled to the point where the patient feels they’ve hit a ’sweet spot’ where optimal restriction has been achieved. This is just based on personal preference and each person will be different.

Interestingly enough, the entire lap band operation is fully reversible! The lap band surgery is the ONLY weight loss surgery that is reversible. That’s because gastric band placement, unlike other procedures like malabsorptive weight loss surgery (an example would be Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery), doesn’t cut or remove any part of the stomach or the digestive system. It’s usually easy to remove the band and reverse the surgery, requiring only a laparoscopic procedure, after which point the stomach should return back to its normal pre-banded state.

So that’s how the entire lap-band procedure works, but we still haven’t touched upon post-surgery support, diet plans, proper nutrition, healthy lifestyle, the list goes on and on, so be sure to keep coming back to Lap Band Blog as we continue to examine the new weight loss surgery craze that is the the lap band surgery.

How Much Should You Exercise To Loose Weight?

by Robert Kaufman

You can study the fitness and diet products out there and realize that there must be quite a few people seeking the newest and hottest weight loss product. They are usually searching for a diet product to make it easier to lose fat accumulated in the stomach area. One key element that lots of people disregard is the amount of exercise required to lose weight and improve their health.

How often must you work out to lose a decent amount of weight? That may change based on who you are asking. There are a number of dissenting opinions on the topic of weight loss and exercise. With so many exercise options and plans to choose from, it can be quite challenging to decide which is best for you.

Most personal trainers and other fitness professionals will say to do some type of aerobic exercise for 30 minutes or more a few times per week. Aerobic exercise is the kind that gets your heart pumping. Make sure to exercise hard enough to elevate your heart rate, being careful to stay within a healthy range for your fitness level and age.

There have been some trainers and weight loss gurus that are now saying that in order to receive optimum results, you will need to do an aerobic activity for at least one hour four to five times a week. The opinion differs on if that hour can be broken up into two thirty minutes segments.

How much do you actually have to exercise in order to lose weight? Unfortunately, many people set themselves up for failure by setting impossible goals for themselves and getting discouraged. Setting exercise goals is always a good idea when trying to lose weight. These goals must be attainable or they will do more harm than good.

What amount of exercise is required to lose weight? Start off with a light aerobic exercise, preferably something you have fun with. People are much more likely to stay with an exercise program if it is fun and not something they have to force themselves to do. As always, remember to set doable goals for your fitness program. Keep pushing yourself a little bit farther each time you work out and you’ll see your results start to compound.

For those people who have never exercised on a regular basis, it may be difficult to figure out where to start or what they should be doing. The simple answer is, do anything. Any type of exercise is better than the nothing they have been doing and will improve their fitness level. A simple exercise like going for a walk around the park is a good start toward living healthy and losing weight.

Losing weight is never pleasant, but it definitely is a reachable goal for those people who stick with a good exercise program. Stick with your routine and try not to lose hope when you don’t see immediate results. Keep exercising regularly and you’ll see the weight drop off little by little.
