Internet Business
Increasing Online Traffic with Forums
Most people who are used to using the Internet on a moderately regular basis are very familiar with forums and message boards and how to use them. These online communities let people get together to ask questions, give and receive answers, share stories, and forge relationships. As a website owner, participating in online forums will allow you to get in touch with other Internet Marketers as well as with individuals who could potentially become your new customers. For these reasons, forums can increase the volume of traffic your website receives.
Most forums allow you to add a signature line to your profile. You can choose to add your name, a logo or catchphrase that describes your business and a link to your website. Your signature line will be added to each of your posts, and as people read them, they may be curious about your business and visit your site.
When you are new to a forum, post an introductory greeting and let people know who you are. These forums are a great way to build relationships. However, it takes time to build relationships and establish credibility. Try to post regularly and avoid blatant advertisements of your business. Forums often attract a number of spammers whose sole purpose is to advertise their site. These spam messages are usually deleted by the forum’s moderators.
If someone asks a question that you have an answer to, by responding and being genuinely helpful, you will establish yourself as an expert in that topic. People will come to you with their questions and will trust your answers. They will remember you and be more likely to visit your site in search of more information on that topic.
The links you use do not all have to go to your homepage; you might link forum readers to your newsletter opt-in page. Having more newsletter readers will help boost traffic to your site, especially when you include links to new articles you have posted to the website in your newsletter.
Whenever you feature a special offer like an e-course or a discount on a certain product, let forum members know by posting about it. They will want to know so that they can take advantage of such special offers.
Since word of mouth advertising is an extremely good way to build up your business, do not be afraid to ask your friends on the forums to refer you to others. Doing so will make your business internationally known. Contacting other Internet Marketers on forums can also help you, as you may be able to get involved in some joint ventures.
Using forums to make new friendships, make others see you as an expert, and link readers back to your website will all help you increase the traffic to your site.
ClickBank Affiliate Income: Boost It Using Review Pages
ClickBank is one of the largest sources of digital products, and some 10,000 merchants use ClickBank to sell their products.
From the merchants’ point of view, ClickBank makes it easy for them to sell. They don’t need to process credit cards themselves, and they don’t need to set up an affiliate scheme. ClickBank does both of these jobs for the merchant.
Affiliate marketers, too, like ClickBank a lot. With a free ClickBank account you can immediately start promoting any products sold through ClickBank, using a special ClickBank “hoplink” for each product. With most merchants rewarding you with at least 50% commission per sale, you’ll soon start making serious big bucks.
Sounds easy, doesn’t it! But life is never that simple. The truth is that most ClickBank affiliates make little or no money from promoting ClickBank products. Assuming that they’re not lazy and do actually put some effort in to promoting the products, they often go about it in the wrong way.
It’s not enough to use such methods as banner ads or links in your forum postings and emails. That’s not enough to persuade people to purchase through your link.
I want to show you a technique which has worked extremely well for me. It needs a little effort, but the rewards more than compensate for the work involved.
Writing Review Pages
You need to write a review for any product you want to promote as an affiliate. The purpose of the review is to “pre-sell” the product. You need to get people in a favorable frame of mind so that when they visit the sales page through your affiliate link, they are much more inclined to buy.
An increasing number of people, before they buy something, do a little research to find reviews of that product. They’ll type something like “review + product name” into Google. You can see for yourself how many reviews there are for a product by doing just that.
Unfortunately, many people, even though they realise the benefits of review pages, still make elementary errors.
Refining Your Product Review Page
1) Don’t fill your review with nothing but good points about the product. Find a few unimportant things that you don’t like. These, of course, should more than countered by the good things!
2) Don’t try to “sell” the product. The main purpose of the review page is to get people to click through to the merchants’s sales page through your affiliate link, ready to make a positive buying decision.
3) Don’t copy any of the wording used on the sales page. As soon as the visitor goes to the sales page and recognises some of the words which were on review page, your credibility goes out of the window!
4) You’ll be a lot more convincing if you have actually used (and liked) the product. You’ll find that you can frequently get a copy of the product from the merchant without having to pay for it. Just tell the merchant that you want to write a review of it.
5) If there are other competing products, write a “comparative review”. In this review you’ll be comparing the product you’re promoting with other less satisfactory products. If you use a “star rating system” (and I suggest that you do), your main product will, of course, rank higher than the others!
So now it’s time for you to start to put this strategy into action and increase your profits from selling ClickBank products. The tools in my ClickBank ToolKit are designed to make this strategy much easier to use.
Search Engine Optimization For Tech Dummies
One of the best ways to get instant traffic to a web site is to pay the search engines to get listed, using “pay per click” advertising.
Using search engine optimization, you can make your web pages appear higher in the search engine results pages, so people will find you, and click over to your website, without having to pay the search engines a dime.
You may have heard of this Page Rank thing. It is a google score between 0 and 10, and the higher the number, the better your page is. No one really knows how PageRank is scored, not even Larry Page (one of the key guys at Google). I can show you some simple things you can do to get better search engine rankings, and a better Page Rank.
Interested? Lets get into the simple seo stuff you can do to get higher rankings, better Page Rank, and all that stuff.
1. Have other sites link to your pages using keywords.
I mean, do stuff to get other sites to point to your site, using a link phrase that people actually search for.
One way to do this is with article marketing (see my other articles). You simply write a short informative article, include an author box with a hyperlink back to your website, using a keyword you know people search for. Then you submit this article to many article directories.
2. Make sure your keyword is in the title tag.
The title tag is what you read at the very very top left of your browser. Make sure your keyword shows up there.
3. Put your keyword in your headline.
Your headline is the big text at the top of your page (normally). Your keyword should be in your headline.
4. Make sure other related keywords are on your page.
This means your page should be meaningful, and contain related words to whatever you are discussing.
5. Look at the source of your web page, and remove codes.
To look at your page in html mode, open it, and then right click and choose “view source”. What you are looking for is stuff that isn’t readable, like javascript code and “css” descriptions. Move that stuff into other files, and include it from your page. Get the help of a techie if you don’t get this part. Basically, you want Google and the other bots to read writing you can read, and nothing else. If the top of your page is filled with programming junk, you will not get ranked in the search engines.
6. Put the full link to your internal HTML pages.
This is quite easy, and just means of linking to the HTML page, you link to it like it was on another site, using the fully qualified domain name (that http colon slash slash stuff). When you do this, the search engines know that these other pages are worth indexing too.
7. Update your site frequently.
By keeping things new on your website, it means you have active dynamic content, which the search engines love. So keep things maintained and updated, and your rankings in the “SERPS” will rise steadily.
Put these steps to work, and you will see a remarkable improvement in your search engine marketing efforts. It is easy, once you know exactly what to do.
How Do I Make Lots of Money Fast by Beating Adwords?
If you know how to go about setting up a successful pay per click (PPC) campaign then you are on your way to make lots of money fast, its that simple! If you have little or no experience with pay per click campaigns then its time to learn the right way ? don’t just presume you can do it all with little or no background knowledge.
Without the right knowledge you are heading for trouble and more probable than not, big trouble too. You will have heard some stories before about others trying pay per click and losing their shirt. Its frightening to even think about that happening!
Why is this, don’t you wonder? Why is it that to make lots of money fast is just so difficult when you truly want it to happen so badly? When you have implemented what you have read but the results just do not seem to work out the way you were told.
If you know how then the “gamble” completely disappears and in time you are guaranteed to profit - you will be beating adwords and winning with your efforts!
Do you already have experience of setting up PPC campaigns? How successful were they? Were you worried about your optimization techniques ? could they have been better? Did you utilize split testing to improve on your then performances?
I have to guess the answer to at least one of these questions is no otherwise why else would you be reading this article about beating adwords?
Okay, so we have established that you have got to make some changes and improvements if you have already some experience or you have yet to begin and are keen to get your first pay per click campaign underway.
From my experience the best way to achieve success is to learn from someone who has done it all before. Someone who has achieved already what you hope to do so yourself.
But still I could not get the much needed traffic to my websites in a regular and sustained way. And as we know, without traffic there will be little or no sales, regardless of how good the product is. Its like opening a shop on a street where there are no people around. No customers means no sales, period!
You could end up searching for a long time to come and never actually invest in a campaign ever ? giving up with frustration at trying to find the right way to set up your campaigns. But there are a number of internet marketers who time and time again make lots of money fast, purely and simply because they follow a proven system. If you have yourself a successful system you will find that beating adwords becomes second nature.
Different Options Available For Web Hosting
Whether you are looking to get your business on the internet or setting up a personal site with which the family can share photographs and information, you will need to look into a web hosting account. When you finally make the decision to put your business or personal life online, you will find many different options for web hosting and the service you choose will largely depend on the type of internet home you plan to build.
Some companies offer free web hosting that allows you a certain amount of bandwidth every month and for many personal sites, this will be sufficient, but businesses may not have enough access to their sites with the typically limited amount of bandwidth offered at no charge. Commonly, many companies offer free services at around fifty megabytes of bandwidth per month. These free web hosting offers may not be enough to handle the load, if families are going to post a lot of photographs on their site.
Understand that when you look into web hosting, the amount of bandwidth is not only for the content of the site, it also includes the information sent to and from the site be you and any visitors to the site. An average picture can eat up as much as two megabytes by itself, leaving the available space on your web hosting account likely insufficient for your purposes.
Available Scripts Another Important Consideration
When choosing web hosting, the type of information included on your site must also be considered, as some services do not offer the use of all scripts available for internet use. For example, if you plan to upload music onto your site, such as a family sing along, if the service is unable to offer streaming audio on the web hosting service, it may not be the best service you could choose.
Prices for web hosting can also vary tremendously, typically based on the bandwidth available, the amount of storage space you will have on the web hosting company’s servers, the number of email accounts included and many other factors. The company’s reputation for being available is the one thing that should be on top of the list.
Some of the free or least expensive web hosting services have excellent reputations for being up and running. In most instances, a 99 percent up time is considered the standard, meaning your web site will likely show an error or be unavailable only one percent of the time.
