Get Right With The Environment - Use Hybrid Vehicles!

by Rex Stevenson

“I conceive that the land belongs to a vast family of which many are dead, few are living, and countless numbers are still unborn,” as said by a Chieftan from Nigeria. It is easy to see that we are ruining our children’s most important inheritance the earth. What good is money if they don’t have a clean place to live. Every one of us needs to think of ways in which to be more environmentally friendly, and with the way gas prices keep going up, a good way to do that is by getting one of the new hybrid vehicles.

Specialists in the environment look favorably on these new hybrid vehicles. Even the makers realize that consumers are asking for them more and more and the future looks very bright for vehicles that use alternative fuels. This is a big change compared to that of just a few years ago, when these cars were very hard to sell.

A hybrid vehicle is a car that is a combination of both an electric vehicle and a gas powered car. They have both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor. This type of vehicle shares both gas and electric energy when it is in use. Today there are two types of hybrid vehicles on the roads, the mild Hybrid, and the Full Hybrid.

The Mild hybrid uses more gas than electricity and the electric motor is used only as a support to the gas engine. These are not as gas efficient as the full hybrid. They are not as environmentally friendly as the full hybrid but compared to normal vehicles, they are much more efficient.

True hybrids can function on either electric energy or gasoline independently and when the car works off of electricity then those harmful emissions are not going into the air.

Here is a list of current hybrids on the market:

SUVs * The Ford Escape Hybrid comes in both a 2WD and a 4WD version. The 2WD gets 36 miles to the gallon in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The 4WD version gets 32 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. * Lexus RX 400h is an all wheel drive vehicle and reaches 27 mpg in the city and 25mpg on the highway. * Saturn Vue Hybrid comes in a 2WD vehicle and get 27mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. * Mercury Mariner is a 4WD vehicle and gets 32 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. * Toyota Highlander Hybrid comes in both a 2WD and a 4WD. The 2WD gets 33mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway. The 4WD gets 31 mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway.

Don’t Worry About Gas Prices With These Tips On Saving Gas

by Rex Stevenson

There are several ways you can continue to live your normal lifestyle in these tough times. All you have to do is save on gas. When you need your car to get you places and need it to get your job done, you need to focus on how much gas you spend. With gas costing around $4 a gallon , we need to save all the gas we can. Here are some great tips on how to do just that.

You can help the environment and save a ton of gas by installing one of the new HHO car modification system. These HHO gas modification systems have become very popular and there are several currently on the market. The systems give you instructions on how to assemble an HHO gas modification system to your car from average every day hardware store parts.

This is the way HHOs work. A small canister is installed in the car and it is mixed with bicarb of soda and water. The canister gets its power from the battery and then it creates HHO gas that is then sent to the carburetor or manifold. Your MPG increases by approximately 30%. The engine runs smoother and more efficiently and emits fewer emissions.

HHOs work in the following way. A small canister is mixed with water and bicarb of soda, this canister then get power from the battery and produces HHO gas which is sent to the manifold or carburetor. What you end up with is an increase in MPG, by about 30%.Users of HHO systems also say their engine seems to run more efficiently. Not only that but you also release fewer emissions into the environment.

Drive Less - Other ways that you can save on gas include driving less. As an example if you need to run to the store for something, then either walk or take a bicycle. When you need to go long distances, you can car pool, drive to the nearest bus station and take the bus, or train.

* Turn off the air conditioner in heavy traffic, and on the highway be sure it is on, because when you roll down the windows you create drag which makes your car use more energy. * Get rid of extra weight in your car. Make sure you don’t carry anything you don’t need. The extra weight causes your car to use more energy. * Don’t use anything that will interfere with your cars aerodynamics. So, don’t use luggage racks, bike racks or anything like that. * Check the tire pressure. If your tires are not inflated then your car spends more gas. * Make sure your car is clean and waxed because friction with air causes your car to lose gas mileage.

Some other basic things you can do which will help you save gas is making sure you change the air filter every 10,000 miles. You should make sure you change spark plugs and change the oil when needed too. Make sure your car is tuned and inspected and always in good shape.

The above tips will help you save on gas and you should also keep your tank full but not over full. Remember added weight causes your car to spend more energy and more gas. Try to use your cruise control when you can, as this will also help you save gas. Follow these tips and paying so much for gas will not affect you so badly.

Finding the Best Car Hire Deal in Spain

by Leroy Calstard

Hiring a car in Benidorm is actually a pretty easy thing to do. Thousands of tourists flock to this city every year. There are over 20 separate companies which hire cars in Benidorm. The city has international and national car rental firms. You should be careful to compare the rates, packages and any fees so that you can get the best deal.

Benidorm Car hire - Reserve your Car

You should make sure that you reserve your car before you leave home, this means that you can get the best deal available. You should make sure that you compare the prices of a number of different companies. Try looking on the internet to find great priced car hire. Make sure you compare the features as well as just the price.

You then have an option, you can either decide to pick your car up from the airport, or you can rent it from a company in the city rather than the airport. Sometimes one is cheaper than the other, which is why you should spend some time comparing prices. If you rent from the city then most companies will come and pick you up. You could also catch a bus from Benidorm so that you can pick your car up.

Additional Costs for a Benidorm Car Hire

There are sometimes some sneaky hidden fees which can quickly add up to a considerable amount of money if you’re not careful. You should spend time asking extra questions and read the fine print in detail so that you can avoid extra fees.

Insurance can be very expensive, this should protect any damage done to the car while you are using it. This means that it prevents you having to pay for the damage. Some agreements have this cost built in, however most charge extra for the insurance. Some people will not opt for this extra cost, however that’s your choice.

There are also extra charges for mileage with some cars, this is a very important cost which you need to think about. Some firms offer unlimited mileage, others offer a certain amount of mileage for a certain price and then you pay more for travelling more. You should ask about the mileage when renting the vehicle. If you want to travel a lot then I would suggest going for an unlimited package.

Make sure you check out the time which you need to return the car, some can be returned 24 hours a day, but you need to know when your car is due back. If you return it late you may have to pay for an extra day, which isn’t want anyone wants!

You should spend time comparing the rates for daily and weekly rental, there can be quite a large difference between the two. Sometimes it might be cheaper to rent it for a week even if you don’t need it for the whole week.

You should also find out how much the company will charge if you take the car back without any gas inside. Sometimes they will charge much more than you would buy the gas at the pump. Make sure you ask about this price difference well in advance.

Free Tips To Save Gas

by Michael Baker

Gas prices are getting close to an all time high. Here are a few tips to save gas you can start using right now to off set this.

Could you imaging decreasing your gas costs by 20%? Well, if you take an active role in managing you fuel consumption, this is possible.

One of the other things to think about would be that you can increase your gas mileage by 20%. This is basically the same thing, just worded from the other perspective, as reducing gas costs by 20%.

First, slow down. You do not need to drive so fast, or to accelerate faster than everyone else from the stop signs and the stop lights. Not only will this help on gas mileage, but it will also help with the maintenance of the car.

Your car needs oxygen to burn gas and make the engine run. But, if you have too much oxygen, there will be gas left over after the combustion takes place. This is wasted gas. The most likely culprit of this is a loose gas cap. When you replace the cap after filling up, just make sure it clicks.

An area many people neglect their cars is the air pressure in the tires. This is a real simple tip you can do. Just stop by a local service station, and fill up your tires to the pressure rating listed on the side of the tires. Not only does this save gas, but it als makes the car handle much better.

Let’s get rid of the myth right now that somehow super unleaded gas is better for your car than regular unleaded. It is not. It does not increase gas mileage in any way, so why buy it? Car owners are scared into thinking they need the best gas to keep their car running, but that is so far from the truth. Just stick with regular unleaded and you will save 5-6% on gas right now.

There are so many tips to save gas out there, and these are only a few of them. With the economics and the market prices of gas currently, I would suggest we all do our part and put in place as many tips to save gas as we can.
