We are all familiar to the name \”Cleopatra\” and what it stands for. It is written in history that this woman was famous worldwide for her beauty and charm. It is understandable she is famous across the globe because beauty can melt the heart of millions. Thousands of cosmetics and beauty products are released every day. How do we know which one is the best anti-wrinkle cream?

In ancient days, pollution was very minimal compared to today. That is a factor as to why it was easier for women to take care of their skin back then. As society progressed, so did our increase in production and pollution was a result. Today we are faced with too much pollution in the air and it is a major problem.

Isn’t it terrible that we know about the harmful effects of pollution, yet we continuously pollute our atmosphere? Air pollution is one of the leading factors for skin problems. After a grueling day of work, a woman notices that her skin becomes dull and doesn’t look youthful.

There are many causes for wrinkles. As a person grows older, his or her skin changes in texture. This change in texture is caused by the decrease of the body’s production of the skin-nourishing proteins collagen and elastin. What role do collagen and elastin have when it comes to looking youthful?

A good anti-wrinkle cream should have three key ingredients which consist of a sunscreen agent, collagen and a moisturizer. A natural moisturizer found in high quality anti-aging products is aloe vera. You also want to make sure that you choose a product that will suit your particular skin type.

Lastly, what is the best anti-wrinkly cream that will fit your needs? It is better to get one that will be good for your skin and wallet is obviously better than an expensive cream that will not even improve your skin condition. Don’t fall for product gimmicks that are celebrity sponsored, but aren’t effective.

Why Creams Are Better Alternative - So are anti cellulite creams worth it? Think about other methods such as surgery (liposuction, etc) and supplements that you have to take orally. Creams can be applied directly and do not have to go through your system like supplements do-creams can work locally on affected areas only. Surgery is extremely invasive to many, and not to mention quite risky, expensive and not 100% fail-proof. So at the end of the day, really think about these considerations and you make the call!

Lap Band Surgery: How Does it Work?

Lap band surgery is a procedure aimed to promote weight loss for people struggling to cope with obesity. Overall, the lap band surgery is a simple procedure where, in short, a small implant is placed around the top portion of the stomach to form a ‘gastric pouch’. Here’s how it works:

A ‘gastric band’ with a small balloon inside is attached around the top portion of your stomach, forming a smaller ‘gastric pouch’. The placement of the band creates a small pouch at the top of the stomach that holds up to approximately 30 ml, which works out to about 1/8 cup. You are inclined to eat less because the pouch holds less food than the whole stomach. As the upper part of the stomach registers itself as being full, it sends a message to the brain saying that the entire stomach is full. This is the main principle behind the lap band procedure; this tightening of the stomach feeling or sensation helps the person to:

1. be hungry less often 2. to eat smaller portions 3. and lose weight over time.

This pouch is filled with a saline solution or a Radiopaque isotonic solution which is injected into the band via a port. Via the port, the surgeon has control over the amount of saline solution that is inserted into the band. When fluid is injected, the lap band expands and places pressure around the outside of the stomach. This causes a decrease in the size of the passage between the pouch and the lower stomach; restricting the movement of food.

The gastric band is adjusted or inflated via a small port inserted just under the surface of the skin. When adjusting the lap band (same as gastric band) a specialized needle must be used as to avoid causing any damage to the port or the port membrane. These ports come is many different styles and designs and may be placed based on the surgeon’s recommendations.

Once the procedure is done, (usually takes about 45 minutes) the next stage is the post operative follow-up adjustments, support, and lifestyle changes. The patient will need to visit their doctor every few weeks in order to receive their saline injections. Over this time the band is filled to the point where the patient feels they’ve hit a ’sweet spot’ where optimal restriction has been achieved. This is just based on personal preference and each person will be different.

Interestingly enough, the entire lap band operation is fully reversible! The lap band surgery is the ONLY weight loss surgery that is reversible. That’s because gastric band placement, unlike other procedures like malabsorptive weight loss surgery (an example would be Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery), doesn’t cut or remove any part of the stomach or the digestive system. It’s usually easy to remove the band and reverse the surgery, requiring only a laparoscopic procedure, after which point the stomach should return back to its normal pre-banded state.

Carbohydrates are changed or converted to glucose in the body and insulin helps cells utilize or used glucose for energy. Controlling the hormonal response to foods has a stabilizing effect on serotonin levels. This helps prevent emotional overeating and elevates the feeling of calmness and well-being. Calories taken in, have to equal calories out for maintenance. When we cut out food groups as in we cut calories thus weight loss occurs. Calorie Counting doesn’t work because you need to “shift” calories — not count them. Our diet is scientifically engineered to make the scale keep dropping each day via “shifting calories”.

Avoid losing weight too fast or very quickly. Lose weight too quickly and your body will burn off muscle rather than fat therefore making it harder and harder to keep weight off and stay motivated. Slowly and steadily is the best way to get in shape and stay there permanently. Weight loss occurs since most of the calories and nutrients are routed into the colon where they are not absorbed. This surgery procedure is less often used because of the high risk for nutritional deficiencies. Weight problems often run in families, may be overeating to comfort yourself when you are sad, stressed or lonely. Why Colon Cleansing Is Important To Health

The nutrients and fiber we need to be healthy is stripped away from most of the convenience foods we eat. This food will not provide the fiber we need to maintain a healthy colon.

Because of the lack of fiber in their diets many people have trouble with bowel movements and turn to chronic use of laxatives to solve the problem. Laxatives can interfere with natural waste elimination processes. Waste can build up in the colon for weeks, or even months resulting in painful constipation and bloating.

A healthy colon will eliminate waste twice a day. If the waste is not eliminated regularly it can lead to other serious problems. You need to take action before your health is seriously affected.

If toxic fecal matter remains in your system it will produce toxins that can be absorbed by your liver and other organs. A build of toxins in your organs will cause them to stop functioning properly resulting in risk of disease and serious health problems.

An unhealthy colon can lead to a number of diseases and health problems including but not limited to fatigue, asthma and anemia. When the toxins from fecal build up are not eliminated from your body it can lead to serious problems. Colon cleansing can help you stay healthy and prevent disease.

Once the colon stops working properly it may not be enough to simply follow a strict fiber filled diet plan. The colon may have already been damaged and it will take more than proper eating for it to heal properly.
